For Halloween, everyone expects sweets, but serving a few savory, filling dishes is a welcome counter to all the sugar. Halloween is usually more of a stand-up cocktail-type party (who can sit in a mermaid costume?!?), so serving food that doesn't require a fork and knife is key. Traditional pumpkin seeds have a sweet and spicy kick to make them party-worthy, while sweet potato cakes with a mango chutney and citrus-soy steak skewers make for a filling meal. Add in a few other fun, savory snack, like caramelized bacon, individual bags of popcorn and black olives with orange zest for a stylish twist on Halloween fare.
